Biography
David is an active member of Dallas First United Methodist Church and is a member of the Paulding County Historical Society, Paulding County Chamber of Commerce and the Paulding County Republican Party. A 1968 graduate of Dallas High School and a graduate from the University of West Georgia, David earned a BBA degree in Marketing and Management. David has spent 30 years in corporate management and is known for his ability to grow companies from local entities to nationally recognized profitable companies. David looks forward to meeting all the citizens of Paulding County over the next year and listening to their concerns to make Paulding County a better place to live and work. David A. Austin has announced his intention to seek election to the office of Chairman, Paulding County Board of Commissioners. David is a sixth-generation resident of Paulding County. He is the son of Mrs. Willie Mae (Pace) Austin and the late Boyd L. Austin, Sr. David has been married to the former Jane Abney for thirty-six years and they reside in the New Hope community. They have one daughter, Jaydee, who is married to Chris Smith and two grandchildren, Abney and Austin Smith.
